The exhibition features over 200 original posters by Tadanori Yokoo — a legendary Japanese artist, graphic designer and painter. Each of these printed works, reflecting the distinctive cultural content and artistic characteristics of its era, documents Yokoo’s exploration of visual language and the transformation of his artistic expression over more than sixty years. Together, these posters encompass Japan’s post-war transformation across the evolving landscape of its culture and society.

Die durch Krisen geprägte Gegenwart und die stetig zunehmenden Unterschiede in den Lebensbedingungen von ökonomisch sowie sozial unterprivilegierten und wohlhabenden Menschen in den westeuropäischen Gesellschaften haben zur Folge, dass die Frage der Klassenzugehörigkeit wieder zu einem zentralen Thema geworden ist – und damit der Klassismus. In dem geplanten Workshop im Werkbundarchiv – Museum der Dinge geht es um das Potenzial von Kultur, sich der klassistischen Prägung des Systems bewusst zu werden. Der Workshop bietet durch die Verknüpfung mit der aktuellen Sonderausstellung des Museums „Milieudinge – von Klasse und Geschmack“ die Möglichkeit, sich konkret mit dem Thema und seiner Darstellbarkeit im musealen Raum, im Bereich der Kunst und Literatur auseinanderzusetzen. Das Werkbundarchiv – Museum der Dinge widmet sich wieder in besonderer Weise seinen Dingpfleger*innen und denen, die es werden wollen. Dingpfleger*innen übernehmen eine symbolische Patenschaft für Objekte aus der Sammlung des Museums. Dingpflegschaften sind mit einem bestimmten Spendenbetrag verbunden und gelten jeweils für ein Jahr.
